Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

At Montclair Elementary, we believe that creating a positive and supportive school environment helps every student succeed. Our school follows P.R.E.S.S. for Success expectations to guide students in making positive behavior choices throughout the school day. P.R.E.S.S. stands for:

  • Positive – Encouraging kind words, appropriate behavior, and a positive attitude.
  • Responsible – Making smart choices, following rules, and taking care of personal and shared spaces.
  • Engaged – Staying focused, listening actively, and participating in learning.
  • Safe – Respecting personal space, walking calmly, and following safety guidelines.
  • Solution-Focused – Solving problems appropriately, helping others, and learning from mistakes.
These expectations are applied in all areas of the school, including hallway, restroom, cafeteria, bus, classroom, and playground.

How Can I Help?

Parents play a vital role in the PBIS program! You can support our efforts by keeping the school informed with the most up-to-date information about your student and reinforcing positive behavior expectations at home. Stay engaged by keeping up with our parent newsletter to stay informed about important updates and ways to get involved. Your involvement makes a difference!

Montclair's 100 Club

The 100 Club is an exciting way to recognize students for demonstrating positive behaviors that align with our PBIS matrix and P.R.E.S.S. for Success motto! Through this program, students are celebrated for making great choices and contributing to a positive school environment. Click here for more information.
