Greetings Mustangs!
My name is Stacy Calhoun and it is with honor that I serve as your Assistant Principal at Montclair Elementary. I am excited to join an amazing team of teachers, students, families and administrators. I am a native of Decatur, Georgia and a proud product of the DeKalb County School District. I attended Georgia Southern University where I received my B.S. and M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education. As I became interested in administration, I went on to complete my Ed.S. in Educational Leadership at Mercer University.
Throughout my years in education I have served in a variety of roles. I began my career at Briar Vista Elementary School where I taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 5th Grade. I became an active member of BVE’s Leadership Team and later went on to become an Instructional Support Specialist where I worked closely with all stakeholders to make data driven instructional decisions to promote student growth.
I believe that with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and good character anyone can achieve great things. I strive to instill those qualities in our young people and to be a positive role model as well. We are all here to learn together. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing educational environment that challenges our students to reach beyond their expectations to become lifelong learners who will make the world a better place. I look forward to serving this community as we make strides toward student achievement!
Educationally yours,
Stacy E. Calhoun, Ed.S.
